Jaw crushing plants are designed for primary crushing of rocks or construction and demolition (C&D) wastes of any strength, producing or recycling crushed stone and aggregate.
Jaw crushers are widely recognized as one of the most reliable and productive types of primary crushers. They are versatile machines, capable of handling almost any kind of rock—from hard granite to C&D waste. Depending on the type of raw material, different jaw plates with varying strength and durability can be installed to ensure optimal performance.
Working Principle of Jaw Crusher
The crushing method of a jaw crusher is curved extrusion, and its working principle mainly simulates the movement of an animal’s jaws. During operation, the motor drives the belt and pulley, causing the eccentric shaft to move the movable jaw up and down.
- When the movable jaw rises, the angle between the toggle plate and the movable jaw increases, pushing the movable jaw plate closer to the fixed jaw plate. The material is thus subjected to multiple crushing actions such as extrusion, rubbing, and grinding between the two jaw plates.
- When the movable jaw descends, the angle between the toggle plate and the movable jaw decreases. Under the action of the pull rod and spring, the movable jaw plate moves away from the fixed jaw plate, and the crushed material is discharged freely through the discharge opening at the bottom of the crushing chamber under the influence of gravity.
With the continuous rotation of the motor, the movable jaw performs periodic crushing and discharging, thereby achieving continuous, large-scale production.
GEP “European Version Jaw Crusher” Core Highlights
GEP Ecotech’s latest European version jaw crusher is engineered for higher efficiency and reliability in construction waste recycling. Unlike traditional models with time-consuming gasket adjustments and bulky motor setups, it adopts a hydraulic discharge adjustment system for quick, precise control and an integrated motor design for a more compact layout. Its modular, assembly-type frame enhances fatigue strength, reduces stress concentration, and simplifies transport and installation. Heavy-duty components—such as a forged eccentric shaft, high-manganese steel jaw plates, and a cast steel movable jaw assembly—further boost load capacity and stability. With optimized welding technology and durable construction, this new generation jaw crusher delivers longer service life, lower maintenance, and superior performance in primary crushing applications.
