Tire Steel Wire Separator (Rasper)—A Key Device for Precise Tire Recycling

25

In the process of waste tire recycling, the complete separation of rubber and steel wire directly impacts the purity of the output and the efficiency of downstream processing. As a leading solid waste treatment technology company, GEP ECOTECH has developed a high-performance tire steel wire separator to provide efficient, stable, and eco-friendly solutions for mid-stage tire processing. It has earned the trust of many recycling enterprises.

Definition

The tire steel wire separator, also known as Tyre Rasper, is an essential piece of equipment in waste tire recycling lines. It is used to deeply separate embedded fine steel wires from mid-sized rubber chips (typically 50–80 mm in size) after initial shredding. This improves rubber purity and the overall value of recycled materials.

Tire Steel Wire Separator

Why It Is Necessary

Waste tires contain a large amount of embedded steel wires. If not properly separated, these wires can:

A high-efficiency Rasper helps remove these wires, improves product quality, protects equipment, and allows steel to be separately recycled for added value.

Working Principle

The GFT tire steel wire separator uses serrated blades mounted on a rotating shaft in combination with stationary serrated blades inside the housing to apply shear and shredding forces to rubber blocks, reducing them to smaller sizes. During this process, the embedded steel wires and some fibers are effectively separated from the rubber. A screen is installed at the bottom of the chamber: material smaller than the screen holes passes through, while oversized pieces remain inside for further shredding until they meet the size requirement and exit through the screen.
